    Going Out

    Hi All,
This has probably been discussed already but here goes anyway. Wife and I were talking about me going out dressed. She has been really accepting over the last year or so, but this is totally GREAT! I want very much to do this, but as you can imagine am filled with reservations. I still need help with make-up as she hardly wears any. I know I am bigger than the average woman (6' tall 245lbs.). We were wondering about where to go and what would be the best way to go about it. We live in southern Louisiana and are thinking about going to Miss. or somewhere we hopefully won't see anyone we know. As I said before, I know this has probably asked to infinity, but I would really appreciate any help or advice. I told her I would like to meet other CD's and I don't know how she would handle it. She seems to be really supportive of my hope of going shopping and dining out while dressed. As I said before, thanks for any help.

I lived in New Orleans for 32 years and you can go almost anywhere you want without having a problem. Maybe start off with going for a drive with your wife, then for a little walk around
a shopping mall.Just remember you have to act like you belong there. Good luck

    Hi all,
How about Houston?? I believe there is a Tri-ess group there. they can lead you and your wife to 'safe' places to go, have dinner, shop, etc.... Maybe even a meeting???
There your wife would meet other CD's AND thier wives!! So that she doesn't feel SHE is all ALONE!! (I'm certain we have ALL felt that way at some time!!)
    Have fun!

I've trunkated your message to answer just to this part.

I don't hink that you should worry too much about being recognized. If your wife has helped you with dressing and with the makeup (even if she doesn't do much for herself, she will know better than most males...) then you will pretty much look like a tall woman going out shopping with her friend.

I have told about my x-dressing and even shown pics of me "en femme" to some friends of mine.

Later on, I've been out "en femme" and met some of those people in real life, they didn't recognise me...

So even if you meet people you know, they probably won't recognise you, in particular since they don't expect it at all. If they speak to your wife, whom they will of course recognize, it would be better if you either don't speak or high pitch your voice... That was what my friends recognized when I met them: my voice...

If you go out with your wife and someone recognizes your wife, you might be outed simply because you are with her. I really don't care if someone in a distant city sees me as a guy in a dress but I am not yet ready for someone I know that I crossdress. As for being large, just dress appropriately and even if someone sees through your disguise, they will normally leave you alone. A wedding gown or thigh-high boots will normally attraction unwanted attention--especially when they are out of place. Have fun!

    Thanks

Thanks to all. I'm really looking forward to the date. I really appreciate the help. I plan on wearing jeans or slacks and nice top. Will see how it goes and look for other clothes to wear. We will probably go shopping then to dinner and maybe a movie. We are thinking about going to a casino about two and a half hours from where we live. I guess you're right about seeing people we know. I just have to be patient until the day gets here. Again, thanks for the info and look forward to hearing more.

    Two things I can suggest.

    1. Take a drive. People will be too busy driving to take much notice of you.
    2. See if there is a Tri-Ess group or similar in your area. Check here on the forum too. They can tell you places where you and your wife can go that are CD friendly.

When Missy Anne and I have gone out together, I wear a wig and get dressed up too. This makes us both feel more confident that we might not be recognized. Also, Missy Anne wears the skirt, but I feel more comfortable in dressy slacks.

Good luck and keep us posted!
