(Kind of OT) How to find a place...

How do I find a CD friendly place or event in my area? Sure, I see things posted on this web sight, but never in my area. There MUST be some things going on here that I might want to attend! I can't believe we are that ...... ummm.... well.... "we don't talk about 'them' here." There is never anything on the news, or papers so how do I know????

And it's even worse the further north you go in maine, like where I live. I'm an hour north north of bangor. And I've never seen anything going on in bangor. Portland maybe.

Do a google for gay clubs in your area, these are usually CD friendly.

Well you've got something in your favor that you might not know about, Maine is one of the states where gender identity is included in it's human rights laws.

So you'll want to check out the big city papers, coz that's where they'll be, or at least that's where they'll congregate. And get on e-mail lists for GLBT organizations, that will help keep you informed. I'd swear I'd heard of activities in both Bangor and Portland.

Hey! lookie what I found, the government of Maine is ever so nice enough to have a good sized list of GLBT resources on a website. Yay Maine!

Despite the the URL it IS trans-inclusive.

    Maine Gurls Night Out Groups

Try these links to groups on yahoo. I know the Portland group is active, the LA group is new, and the Bangor group is in the forming stages I think. I have only gone to the Boston group this last week and had a great time!

    Good luck!
