I've been doing this CD thing so long that...........

......I have to find some damn reading glasses that I do have several pairs of scattered about but there's none to be found at the moment to see if I have left and right Dress Tec butt pads on the correct cheeks because they're getting a little worn out and hard to read.

......I really do understand that passing is a fantasy I gave up a long time ago which makes it funny that someone might say, "Do you really want to be a woman?" Geez. Been there, done that.

Wife just woke up. Gotta get this makeup off.
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.
    Smile, Honey! You look fabulous!

I have just one pair of prescription reading glasses but a couple for web surfing that will do in a pinch.

I also have trouble keeping track of where I put them.

I started needing glasses to read, now it's for a lot of close up type things. I lost so many pair that I now have a 3 pack at home and one in the studio. While in girl mode I put a pair between the girls so I have them at all times.

As we age in some ways it becomes easier to pass.

Suzi, that's funny. I remember when I had lasek and the first focused look at the skin on my hands and arms I blurted out, "When did I get so old?!"

I think it's a human condition thing that we become more physically androgynous as the years accumulate.I actually wish I was more assertive about my dressing back when I was younger and more slender. and didn't need reading glasses.........

I think I have mentioned it before, but I do not wear my glasses when it go out. It makes it harder to see as I am nearsighted but I prefer how I look with them removed. For the most part it has not made much difference. I do have to put them back on when driving though. My long flash lashes kind of bug me with them on as well.

I feel you pain as far as aging goes. My knee is kind of bothering me. It is hard to say how much more clubbing I can tolerate as I get older.

Ha, Carla, that is funny .. or maybe not

Sandi, I was wearing a set of lashes the other day that were just too long, so I had the same problem. When I blinked, the eyes would not open completely again!
Switched to some slightly more realistic ones now.

Carla, in my experience, altho I HAVE passed, it is mostly a fantasy in dresser's minds!

However, I have also found if u want to see a woman in your mirror or photos? If u try hard enuff u can!

Sandi, some years ago I gave up bike riding because one knee was giving out! Never mind club dancing.
A physical therapist helped me get the compolete use of my knee back!
PM me if u want to know the excersizes he gave me!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

Thankfully my optical prescription means I can buy ready readers that are suitable for my use. This means I can buy femme style glasses, usually cat's eye style, as multipacks from Amazon. There's a pair in both my handbags, a pair on the computer desk, in the car, side of the bed as well as a few spares in a drawer.

My vision has likewise declined to the point that I cannot see whether I shaved my legs or not. Or within the past few months, I have difficulty seeing whether I shaved my arms. I have had to get pedicures because I cannot see well enough to do a good one myself. It is getting challenging to put on makeup competently or to change my piercing jewelry. But as the eldest son of the most stubborn Mom in five US states, I can handle it.

I can no longer read road signs with my left eye. I totaled a rental car in January because covid temporarily wiped out about a third of the vision in my right eye. Not to worry, my vision returned two weeks later. I have an appointment with a specialist 500 km away in Seattle in two weeks to figure out what can be done.

I wear contact lenses only when en femme. It gives me acceptable vision but I must then do the reading glasses thing. At least cute femme reading glasses are not expensive. Without my glasses, people still read me fairly easily but they do not likely know who they are reading. Of course, at the distant places that I go out in public en femme, I am unlikely to meet anyone who I know.

As George Washington put on his reading glasses to begin his farewell address, he remarked to his soldiers that not only had he gone gray in their service, but he was also going blind. He was age 51 at the time. We are in good company.

Last time I got a new prescription for glasses, I found a BOGO deal. I got a drab grey wire-rimmed pair for boy me and a pink wire-rimmed pair for Steffi.
Hi, I'm Steffi and I'm a crossdresser... And I accept and celebrate both sides of me. Or, maybe I'm gender fluid.

I had cataract surgery some time ago and I have to say, I am utterly amazed at how much better I can see. I can even read this as I type on my iPad, w/o reading glasses. So incredible after a lifetime of wearing glasses and/or contacts.

I definitely need reading glasses to read the size tag on a bra to find out what size of breast forms I should use.

The most recent time I got new glasses at Costco I got three pair. One pair mens prescription, one pair prescription sunglasses, and one pair womens prescription. The technician said "These are womens, glasses." I said "Yes, I know", and that was it.

I'm short sighted so need my glasses constantly!
I gave up on contacts years ago and frankly think I look better with glasses than without.
When my dressing became more than a in-the-bedroom-secret thing, one of the first things I did was order my prescription in cat-eye styled glasses from an online optician in the UK.
For 14 UKP including delivery they're amazing! A bit of a tight fit even with adjustments but the change of style from mens to womens makes all the difference when I'm dressed.
And the cat-eye lenses, being much bigger than the letterbox-type lens in my regular prescription, really let you see my eye makeup!

so long that -- my older dresses are back in fashion again.

-- I got reading glasses to apply the glue to the eyelashes.

-- I don't really use beard cover because it's grey.

I have bifocals and one eye with20/200 -20/400 vision. Putting on makeup is an exercise in frustration. I purposely chose an androgynous style of glasses so I can wear them in either mode.

My eyesight is such that I have to wear glasses all of the time, I have a wonderful optician that knows me in both male and female mode. With her help I have one set of distinctly femme frames, and two sets of unisex frameless glasses. I did try contacts for a time, but couldn't get on with them.
My eyes are such that the online retailers will not supply, so I would say that I pay a high price for my specs, around ?450 per set, with thin plastic lenses. If I stayed with standard glass lenses, they would be so thick and heavy, or to use another phrase, like jam jar bottoms.

I got some reading glasses on Amazon. Searching for Feminine and CatEye reading glasses I saw a deal on 2 pairs in different colors, and they were definitely women's, so I ordered them. Well, Dame Edna would proudly have worn these, so maybe a bit over the top, Lol
Found some other ones, again 2 sets, and I really like them.
I do especially like the large view field where my typical cheap a.. male reading glasses are the smaller box type and I end up looking over the top of them.

I'm reading through the nice replies and realizing this might be the first accidental reading glasses needing senior CSS (Can't See Somethings) syndrome thread.
Chuckling the whole way through because my original intent was to imply participation in a , "You might be a crossdresser if......." group yukfest.

    OK, your turn.
